Apprenticeships are a great way to gain skills and qualifications whilst getting hands-on experience.

From Cadets and service children to service leavers and spouses, there are options for everyone ranging from NVQ to master’s degree level.

The Gov.UK apprenticeship website allows you to search for an apprenticeship in your local area.

Local Organisations

The University of Northampton is a huge employer in the county and offers a range of apprenticeships.

The Open University are also a great supplier of apprenticeships at degree level. Their Disabled Veterans’ Scholarship Fund provides injured service men and women with access to free Open University education. 

Local colleges such as Northampton College, Tresham College and Moulton College all provide apprenticeship programmes.  

Goodwill Solutions have a learning academy dedicated to apprenticeships and run a variety of different courses with employment support on completion.

The NHS have worked closely with partner organisations to develop their Step Into Health career pathway, specifically aimed at service leavers and Veterans.

Both West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council offer a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities. They also offer a guaranteed interview scheme for Veterans and West Northants has a guaranteed apprenticeship interview scheme for Cadets.
