Events

There are a number of regular events which take place across Northamptonshire and are open to members of the Armed Forces Community. If you are looking for advice, support, or just a chat – there is something for everyone.

West Northamptonshire Council run drop-in hubs across the county and the Veterans Community Network also host drop-ins in Wellingborough and Weedon.

There are also a number of local Veteran Breakfast Clubs across the county.

The Veterans Community Network host a therapeutic gardening session at the Racecourse Pavilion. To book please email Gill@VCN.org.uk. 

The Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust run a series of Crisis Cafés across the county for people who need support with their mental health. There is no need to book, you can just turn up.

The Royal British Legion in Northamptonshire run lots of events throughout the year. Anyone can become a member of the RBL, and they have branches across the county.

The Chatty Café Scheme runs several activities within Northampton aimed at reducing isolation and loneliness. They have face to face meet ups in venues across Northampton, as well as a weekly online chatty café, and a telephone friendship service.

West Northamptonshire Council’s ‘Welcoming Spaces’ initiative provides a directory of places where you can go to keep warm, enjoy some company and have a hot refreshment during the winter months. All of the West Northants welcoming spaces have been issued with an Armed Forces Community information pack and will be able to provide you with advice and guidance on how to get support if you need it.
