In 2025, Remembrance Sunday will be marked across the county on 9 November.

Events will also be taking place to mark Armistice Day on Tuesday 11 November.

Here’s a round up of events taking place across Northamptonshire:

 

Apethorpe:

A service of Remembrance will take place at 10:30am at the War Memorial.

 

Brackley:

In Brackley, Remembrance Sunday will be marked with a parade marching from Winchester House, down the High Street to Brackley War Memorial at 2:30pm.

At 3pm, a service of Remembrance will be held at the War Memorial, followed by wreath-laying.

Brixworth:

Brixworth will mark Remembrance Sunday with a walk departing from the Library and Community Centre at 10am, proceeding to All Saints’ Church for an outdoor family service at 10:30am.

The 2-minute silence will be marked at 11am at the Memorial, and laying of wreaths will follow.

Burton Latimer:

The parade will depart from the car park on Churchill Way at 2pm. A service of Remembrance will follow the parade.

 

Corby:

The Remembrance Parade will depart from the TA centre on St Mark’s Road at 10:30am. On arrival at the War Memorial, there will be a short service and wreath-laying. A children’s parade led by local Cadets will follow.

 

Crick

 On Sunday 9 November, Remembrance Sunday will be marked in Crick with a village parade led by the local Scouting and Girlguiding groups. The parade will make its way to St. Margaret’s Church for a service at 10am.

 At 11am, the service will be followed by the civic Act of Remembrance at the Crick War Memorial. The ceremony will include the sounding of the Last Post, the observance of the Two Minute Silence, and the laying of wreaths in honour of those who gave their lives in service.

 

 On Tuesday 11 November at 11am, to mark Armistice Day, a short Act of Remembrance will be held at the Somme Memorial off Yelvertoft Road.

Daventry:

The Daventry Remembrance Sunday parade will step off at 10:30am from Daventry High Street (Outside Argos) and will proceed to the War Memorial for the Remembrance Service.

A Church service will follow at Holy Cross Church at 11:30am.

On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, a short service will be held at 11am at the top of Sheaf Street (outside the Post Office).

Earl’s Barton:

Meet at the War Memorial on the Square at 10:45am for a Remembrance service.

 

East Hunsbury:

“East Hunsbury Remembers” will be held in Grangewood Park by the Memorial Benches. People are encouraged to gather  at 10:30am for a short service and community wreath-laying.

People are also encouraged to add poppies to the displays which are dotted around the open spaces and parks.

Hartwell:

Meet at the War Memorial at 10:55am . This will be followed by a service at St John the Baptist Church.

 

Higham Ferrers:

Remembrance service to be held at the War Memorial on the Market Square at 10:50am.

Irthlingborough:

Head to St Peters Church for a 10am service. A procession will depart the church to arrive at the War Memorial for an 11am Act of Remembrance.

Kettering:

There will be a parade and Service of Remembrance starting at 2pm in Gold Street. The parade will go along the High Street to the Market Square for the service.

On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, there will be an Act of Remembrance at 10:45am at the War Memorial in Sheep Street.

Long Buckby:

A service of Remembrance will take place at St Lawrence Church at 10:30am.

 

Moulton:

On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, there will be a Service of Remembrance at the Memorial Stone in the public gardens at 10:45am.

 

Northampton:

Remembrance Sunday will be marked in Northampton with a large military parade stepping off from the Market Square at 09:30am.

This will be followed by the Divine Service at All Saint’s Church at 10am, and a wreath-laying ceremony in the Memorial Garden of the church. The 2-minute silence will be observed at 11am, and the memorial garden will remain open for the public to lay wreaths and pay their respects. At around 11:45am the parade will re-assemble.

Oundle:

At 2pm, the parade will form up outside Oxfam before departing for the War Memorial for wreath laying at 2:30pm. Following a short service, the parade will march to the church for a 3pm service.

Raunds:

The Parade will assemble outside the Town Hall at 2:20pm. This will be followed by a service outside at the Raunds War Memorial, St Peter’s Church at 3pm.

On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, a service will be held outside the Town Hall at 10:50am.

Rothwell:

The parade will depart the Market Square at 10am and head to the Holy Trinity Church for a 10:15am service. This will be followed by an 11am service at the War Memorial.

 

 Rushden:

At 10am, the parade will assemble outside Rushden Hall in Hall Park and will march to the War Memorial. A service will be held, along with wreath laying and marking the 2-minute silence at 11am. The service will continue in St Mary’s Church at 11:15am.

Thrapston:

The parade will assemble at 10am outside the Fire Station. The parade will be followed by a service at St James’ Church.

On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, there will be a Remembrance Service and wreath laying in Coronation Gardens, followed by a walk of Remembrance to the cemetery.

Towcester:

For those wishing to attend this year’s Remembrance Sunday service at St Lawrence Church, it is requested that you are seated in the Church by 10:30am for a 10:50am service.

 

Wellingborough:

A parade will depart from the Market Square at 10:40am and make its way to the War Memorial on Broad Green for a service of Remembrance.

 Wollaston:

People are invited to gather at the Doc Martens car park on the High Street at 10:20am ahead of the procession to the War Memorial at 10:35am.

 A service of Remembrance will take place at 10:50am at the War Memorial in the cemetery on Cobbs Lane.
