In 2024, Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday 10 November, with Armistice Day taking place on Monday 11 November.
There are a number of events taking place across Northamptonshire to mark Remembrance this year:
Sunday 10 November 2024
Billing
In Little Billing, attendees are invited to gather at All Saint Church at 9:30am. In Great Billing, attendees are invited to gather at the War Memorial at 10:45am.
Both events will include a Remembrance reading, 2-minute silence and wreath laying.
Brackley
The Remembrance Parade will set off at 2:30pm from Winchester House and will proceed down the High Street. A service of Remembrance will take place at 3pm at Brackley War Memorial.

Brixworth
The Brixworth Remembrance event begins at 10am outside the Library and Community Centre and will walk to All Saints Church for an outdoor family service at 10:30am. This will be followed by wreath laying and 2-minute silence at 11am at the Memorial.

Burton Latimer
The Parade will depart from the car park opposite the shops on Churchill Way at 2:30pm, heading for St Mary the Virgin Church for a service at 3pm. At 3:35pm, the Parade will continue on to the War Memorial for a service, 2-minute silence and wreath laying.
Crick
A Remembrance Service will be held at 10:45am at the War Memorial by the Church.

Daventry
The annual Remembrance Parade will step off at 10:30am from outside Argos on Daventry High Street. The parade will process to the War Memorial for a short service to include Roll of Honour, wreath laying and 2-minute silence. This will be followed by a Remembrance Day service at Holy Cross Church at 11:30am.

Denford
From 10:45am, there will be a wreath laying at Denford War Memorial, followed by a Rememrbance Service at Holy Trinity Church.
Desborough
A parade will depart at 9:30am from the Co-op at Gladstone Street. There will be a service of Remembrance at 10am at St Giles Church, followed by wreath laying at the War Memorial from 11am-12pm.

Duston
There will be a wreath laying at the War Memorial at around 11am but no Church service this year.
Duston’s Poppy Cascade will be on display again this year at St Luke’s Bank from 26 October – 11 November and members of the public are invited to make their own dedication poppy to be included in the display.

Earls Barton
The public are invited to assemble at All Saints Church Hall at 10:30am for a Parade at 10:45am, heading to the War Memorial. At 11am there will be a 2-minute silence, followed by wreath laying and a service of Remembrance.
East Hunsbury
People are invited to meet beside the memorial benches in Grangewood Park for 10:45am. There will be a short Remembrance reading, followed by a 2-minute silence at 11am and then laying of community wreaths.

Greens Norton
St Bartholomew’s Church in Greens Norton will host a Remembrance Service at 10:45am.
Higham Ferrers
A Remembrance Service will take place at 10:50am at Bede House.
Irthlingborough
A service will take place at 10am outside on Parsons Green or in St Peters Church (weather dependent). At 10:40am a procession will head to the War Memorial where an Act of Remembrance will take place at 11am.
Kettering
A Remembrance Parade will assemble on Gold Street at 1:30pm and will march towards Market Place. A service and wreath laying will follow at 2:30pm.

Kislingbury
A Remembrance Service will take place at 10:45am at the Parish Church of St Luke.
Little Addington
A service of Remembrance will take place at 9:15am at St Mary the Virgin Church on High Street.
Little Harrowden
From 10:50-11:05am there will be a short Remembrance event at the War Memorial in the village park. This will include a short reading, the Last Post, and wreath laying.
Northampton
There will be a service held at All Saints Church at 10am, followed by a short service in the Memorial Garden to include the Last Post and 2-minute silence. Wreath laying and a military parade will follow.

Oundle
The annual Remembrance Parade will march to the War Memorial for a wreath laying ceremony at around 2:30pm. At approximately 2:40pm the Parade will then proceed to St Peters Church for a service.
Raunds
The Remembrance Parade will congregate at the Town Hall at 2:45pm and will proceed to the War Memorial. At 3pm there will be a Remembrance Service and wreath-laying at St Peter’s Church.
Rushden
The Remembrance Parade will assemble at 10:15am at Rushden Hall to march to the War Memorial. A service will then commence at 10:50am, followed by a church service at 11:15am at St Mary’s Church.

A Parade departs from the Fire Station at 10:20am, heading to St. James’ Church for a service at 10:30am.
Towcester
A Remembrance Service will be held at St Lawrence Church at 10:50am. Attendees are requested to take their seats by 10:30am.

The Remembrance Parade will step off from the Market Square at 10:40am, heading to the War Memorial. A service of Remembrance will begin with the Last Post at 10:59am.

A Parade will begin along the High Street at 10:35am and will assemble in front of the War Memorial at around 10:50am. The Last Post will then be followed by a 2-minute silence and wreath laying.

Daventry
There will be a short service held at 11am by the brick gazebo at the top of Sheaf Street, outside the Post Office.
Kettering
An Armistice Day service will be held at the War Memorial in Sheep Street at 11am.
Thrapston
At 11am, a Remembrance Service and wreath laying will be held in the Coronation Gardens, followed by a walk of Remembrance.
Upton
A Remembrance Service will be held at 10:50am at the Wooden Soldier in Upton Parish Council Memorial car Park on Berrywood Road. You can find it between St Crispin Social Club and Spectrum.
Stowe Gardens
Stowe Gardens (New Inn Farm, Buckingham, MK18 5EQ) is the UK’s official host for the British D-Day 80 memorial exhibition. It is open to the public until 11 November 2024.
Created by community artist, Dan Barton, the installation consists of 1,475 silhouettes of Second World War military personnel. Each figure represents the number of fatalities under British command on 6 June 1944.
Visits are free for National Trust members. Normal entry fee applies to non-members.
