On the 5 June 2024, Daventry Town Council hosted a ceremony at the Town Council offices to sign the Armed Forces Covenant. Planned for the eve of the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, it was a fitting and timely opportunity for the organisation to reaffirm its commitment to our Armed Forces Community.

The pledges made include:

– Supporting and promoting Armed Forces Events

– Supporting and promoting Armed Forces Charities

– Supporting the employment of veterans, service spouses and partners, and members of the reserve forces.

The Armed Forces Covenant was signed by the current Mayor of Daventry, Cllr Karen Tweedale and Wing Commander Scott Greig, Royal Air Force. Local representatives from SSAFA, the Royal British Legion, Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire were also in attendance, along with the Chairman of the RFCA Northamptonshire.
